Bowenwork Training and
Curriculum
Bowenwork Training consists of seven modules as determined by the international teaching system of the Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia (BTAA). The first six modules are each two full days long. These modules must be taken in sequence because each one reviews and builds on what was taught previously. Each module is generally taught in two consecutive days over a period of six months or more, with a maximum of two modules taught back-to-back. At least a month must pass between module classes, as practice is essential to learning the work as you progress through the modules. The seventh module is a thorough assessment of the material taught in the first six modules. Requirements for taking Module 7 include satisfactory completion of the written assessments and a total of 10 case studies. The student must wait one month after completing Module 6 before taking Module 7. Two days of review are given between Module 6 and Module 7, during which time the instructor refines your work, makes any corrections, and assesses your skills informally in preparation for the formal assessment of Module 7. You and your instructor decide together when you are ready to take Module 7, so that you may be confident when you sign up for it that you are prepared. The content of each module is standard in every country where BTAA- (Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia) accredited instructors teach. This means that you can travel and study with any combination of BTAA-accredited instructors and be assured that you will have learned the same procedures as all of your classmates, regardless of their previous instructors. Every module includes:
Materials used include a detailed manual with photographs and anatomy drawings, additional anatomy illustrations, numerous hand-outs and masters for students to use in their practice. In the very first class, Module 1, students learn the Core Procedures of Lower Back, Upper and Mid-Back, and Neck and Shoulders, plus the addition of the Kidney Procedure. The Core Procedures form the foundation of Bowenwork. These Core Procedures set up a wave frequency in the body that stimulates whole-brain response, which awakens the original "blueprint" pattern of wellness and resets the body back into balance. These procedures can be used immediately by the student to address 70% of the client complaints. They address all systems of the body:

Training Procedures and Tuition
Each training module is two full days and tuition is $350 per module. Two modules may be taken back to back; in such a case two months must elapse before taking the next two modules to provide time for practice and to develop an understanding of the power of the moves. Alternatively, if only one module is taken at a time, only one month must elapse between each module. The $75 registration and membership fee covers a year’s subscription to the Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia’s quarterly publication “Bowen Hands,” admittance to the members’ section of the international Bowenwork website, and various administrative costs. Membership is required while in training. Module 7 is a
two-day testing module, administered by a different, assessing
instructor. The tuition for Module 7 is $350.
Each module is credited with 16 contact hours within the Bowen Academy. The NCTMB credits massage therapists with 14 hours of continuing education per module. Accreditation as a practitioner requires passing the Module 7 assessment and submitting proof of three additional requirements:
